Best interest
Registered investment advisers have a fiduciary duty to act in their clients’ best interest and to disclose material conflicts of interest.
About the firm
Lake Park Advisors began in July 2015 inside a Johnson City accounting practice, when tax clients asked for investment guidance from an adviser they trusted.
Our history
The firm grew out of a Johnson City accounting practice. As the practice grew, a number of its tax clients said they wanted a place to turn for investment management: someone who understood taxes and who was not a salesperson earning commissions on products.
Lake Park Advisors was founded in July 2015 to meet that need as a Registered Investment Advisor in the State of Tennessee. It has operated continuously for more than eleven years. Because the advisory and accounting teams work in the same office, they can discuss the tax side of an investment decision with each other, though Lake Park Advisors does not provide tax or legal advice.
Today the firm’s clients are mainly in Tennessee, along with some in other states. We keep our team small so that clients work directly with the people who manage their portfolios.
Fiduciary standard
Registered investment advisers have a fiduciary duty to act in their clients’ best interest and to disclose material conflicts of interest.
We are paid by clients through advisory fees. We do not receive commissions from product sales.
Our fees, services and conflicts of interest are set out in Form CRS and Form ADV Part 2A.
Lower costs do not guarantee higher returns. Advisory fees, trading costs and taxes still apply, and portfolios can lose value.
